THINKTECH GOING GLOBAL

We’ve been doing Global Connections for a long time, but the more we do on Global Issues, covering the mainstream of media stories in and on this country, the more we find that what happens here affects everywhere.

That’s why we’re gravitating to more international coverage.

Beyond Global Connections, our flagship show on global affairs, we’ve developed Transformational Justice, covering violations of human rights in Subsaharan Africa, Latin America and Ukraine, Islamabad Today, covering Pakistan and Central Asia, View from the North on comparisons with Canada, History is Here to Help, which often covers international issues. Humane Architecture covers architecture not only in Hawaii, but also in Europe.

Our Book! Books! Books! show often discusses books with an international bent, and our movie shows, Movies to Learn From and Guttman’s Garage, regularly cover movies made in or about other countries. Cooper UNion covers UN issues, A Nation of Immigrants covers the experiences of immigrants to the US, and we’re developing a new show called Compass with journalist Chris Cottrell covering the Pacific Islands and Indo-Pacific.

And many of our other shows touch on global issues and events.

Over the years, we have evolved Trump Week, which started in 2017, into two shows, American Issues Take One and American Issues Take Two.  Take Two often extends to the international implications of subjects covered in Take One, so we’ve changed the name of that show to Keeping the World Company, in which we will cover foreign policy and news from around the world.

We feel public attention to these subjects is critical to the success of our global franchise as the “City on the Hill,” and knowing about those things is critical to a better understanding of global affairs by people in Hawaii.

Don’t be an isolationist!  Join us for all our international shows, and send any questions or comments you may have to questions@thinktechhawaii.com so we can get your views on these matters, too.
