TWO NEW TALK SHOWS It was a big day for new ThinkTech Talk Shows.  One is a show with Annalisa Burgos.  She is a career TV journalist who has been on a variety of stations around the country and who was with KITV here in Hawaii.  Right now she is teaching at the Journalism Program at UH Manoa.  She was will soon be doing her own series on ThinkTech covering journalism, media and the news you need to know more about.  We are delighted she will be doing a show with us. We are likewise delighted that Guillermo Sabatier, a senior energy training and compliance executive in Florida will be joining us to host a show on jobs, training and careers in energy and energy technology, a tremendous field for those who want to participate in the enormous market now opening up in that area.  They can earn high pay and work anywhere, often virtually, to help provide better, cleaner, cheaper and more secure energy for our country and beyond. We look forward to learning more from these two hosts, and we

BURNING GLOBAL ISSUES What Happens Without Democracy On April 1st, at 10 a.m. Hawaii time, ThinkTech will be presenting a 90-minute webinar panel program called Burning Global Issues. This will be an examination of seven continents by thought and community leaders living in or expert in those continents, discussing burning issues for each, how they relate to the prospects for functioning democracy, and what we can learn about all that. It will connect those issues with the presence, absence and dynamic of democratic values and institutions in those places. The underlying theme is of course democracy, whether China's version is better, how it works in India, what happens with or without it in the Middle East and Central Africa, how it is playing out in Eastern Europe, and how a promising infrastructure initiative in Colu

YOU'LL SEE MORE OF US NOW We're on a tear about Impact. We have a small Grant from the Atherton Foundation to help us expand our impact with the ThinkTech community.   We’ve done a snapshot of how our impact worked this past January, and we’ll do the same for January next year and then see how things have changed. In the meantime, we’re going to try to build our Impact as much as possible in as many ways as possible.   That means consciously creatively expanding the quality and functionality of our website, database and graphics applications, talk shows, webinars and super shows, our daily advisories, our show and affiliate promotions, our flash messages, our bulletins, our surveys and other interactions with our current constituencies and the new ones we hope to reach. So stand by for a variety of changes this year, in our outreach, our coverage, our email, our social media, our flyers and messages.   More than ever, these will be designed to engage you and call for you to eng

LETTERS TO THINKTECH A big part of our impact is our engagement with followers and friends.   We do this in many ways and we want to do it more ways.   Of course, we want commentaries   You can send us commentaries, your opinions on things, by video using your camera, phone or computer, by audio files, or by text files, whatever is easiest, and we’ll put these on the commentaries page of our website. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQpkwcNJny6nqspn4ybkZtFiqlehI1WmP Now we have an even easier way you can engage.   By old-fashioned letters    Just write up a letter and send it to letters@thinktechhawaii.com , and if appropriate we will likewise post it on our website.   https://thinktechhawaii.com/letters-to-thinktech/ .   We want to hear new ideas, new ways of looking at things, new creativity in science, tech, business, environment, politics and global affairs.   Write out your ideas, send us your letters, and let the world see what you are thinking about.
