New Talk Show - Adventures in Commercialization We’ve just started a new talk show with a new host, Xoe Heeney out of Seattle, dealing with the commercialization of research and startups in science, tech,  health and energy, among other things.  Xoe is familiar with many entrepreneurs and investors in these areas and hopes to bring a new conversation to ThinkTech in those areas. We had our opening discussion for the show at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 23, and it was great, and exciting.  You can catch the video of that show on YouTube at   https://youtu.be/TVsNlr9aVFk   and Vimeo at   https://vimeo.com/649286317 .  Going forward, the show will now run biweekly at 1:00pm on Wednesdays starting January 5, 2022, and episodes will be available on the YouTube playlist   https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQpkwcNJny6njj0JdSBjiXJZ57FSr1c1v .   Welcome Xoe, we look forward to having you and your adventures in our ThinkTech lineup.

Stories of ThinkTech   What does Agricultural Diversification Mean to Hawaii? With the help of a grant from Cooke Foundation, and through the efforts of filmmaker Kim Bassford, ThinkTech is making a documentary film on agricultural diversification in Hawaii because we think it’s a very important topic.   Supply lines have been disrupted (see the first segment on 60 minutes this past Sunday) and are likely to stay disrupted until the country can figure out how to ameliorate the causes of the disruption.  Also, there is a serious climate change drought in the West, particularly in the Colorado River basin, and this is also a threat fo our imported food supply.  Given these threats, Hawaii, which is now almost completely dependent on imported food, is at risk of not being to get enough food.  The film should be done and released in the early part of next year, so stay tuned for a more drill down discussion of what is going on in local agriculture.

LinkedIn Good news.  We’ve added another platform to our social media engagements.  LinkedIn.  You can get there at   https://www.linkedin.com/in/thinktechhawaii/ .  LinkedIn will have our videos and postings, so you can look at that along with our other social media pages, YouTube, Vimeo, Twitter, Apple Podcasts, Instagram, and of course all of our various series on Olelo 54. This new connection will extend our online reach even further, and will make our content available to an even greater viewership audience.  So try it out, take a look at our LinkedIn page when you can and let us know if you have any suggestions about how we can make this connection, as well as all the others, even better.
