WATCH FOR OUR NEW IMPROVED EDITING W e're using a new video editing program called Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve 18, which is becoming very popular in the video editing global community. More and more, we are all learning and using it for our talk show videos after they are originally created on Zoom in the studio. Resolve gives us many more options and creative possibilities, and we really enjoy using it.  Watch for new openings and closings of our videos (i.e., our "intros" and "outros") as well as the motion graphics for our lower third chyron titles. Above is a screen shot from one of the ones we have developed so far.  Of course, it's a work in progress and we will be changing and improving them over time.  Here's a link to the video:  https://youtu.be/GL8ZvMSSH60 So stay tuned for new and even better ones going forward. This is a new chapter for editing at ThinkTech, and we think you will see our video and audio production values improve as we use mor

EXPRESS YOURSELF IN A THINKTECH COMMENTARY AI is getting more powerful, and useful, every day.  We are using it to make videos of thinktech commentaries.  We use ChatGBT to research and improve the copy, ElevenLabs to generate realistic speech from text, then D-ID to create a avatar that delivers the message in video.   ThinkTech would like to have more commentaries. Are you ready to send us a commentary on some issue you care about?  You can record it (a) on your own Zoom if you like and send us the Zoom recording, or (b) you can record it on our Zoom with our studio engineer, (c) you can record an audio file on your phone, or (d) you can  send your message in text, and we'll create a video of it.  Please send it to shows@thinktechhawaii.com.  Keep it down to 300 words, be topical and tasteful, and avoid disparaging comments. We should all express ourselves, especially about the troublesome things that concern us in our community and  the world in these difficult times.  Yes, expr

RESOLVED TO MOVE TO DAVINCI RESOLVE We're changing our editing software to Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve 18.  After reviewing the news and reviews on video editing programs, we've found Blackmagic's Davinci Resolve 18, and given its clever design and extraordinary functionality we're moving to it. There are many video editing programs in the world today, everywhere, and video and video editing itself is going like wildfire.  More and better programmers and programs, video makers, video editors and video software educators everywhere.  Video, and especially YouTube, has become the global communications tool of choice, more so every day We've found that there is a huge burst of enthusiasm in the editing community for Davinci Resolve.  There are two versions, one is free and the other, Resolve Studio, for a relatively modest one-time price.  Both versions have great interface design with different pages for editing the timeline, creating motion graphics on the timeline,

THINKTECH REACHING OUT TO THE WORLD ThinkTech talk show host Hamzah Rifaat does his shows from Islamabad, Pakistan.  His show is called Islamabad Today, and he covers very interesting international guests and subjects.  Given the time difference, however, we cannot produce his shows during regular studio hours, so we have developed a system where he does them himself. That is, Hamzah starts a Zoom meeting at whatever time is convenient for him and his guest. He has his guest join him in that Zoom meeting, and he records the meeting on Zoom and uploads the recorded video file to us. We then edit that video file into a regular ThinkTech talk show within a day or two, and we then stream and disseminate it along with our other talk shows.  This system works well and enables us to include international talk shows which are not otherwise possible. Take a look at Islamabad Today and you'll see what we mean.  You can find it on the ThinkTech Now search page on ThinkTech Hawaii (https://t
