SUMMER WEBINARS COMING UP Stand by for some summer webinars at ThinkTech.    The first one we’re planning is called Who’s Running for Lieutenant Governor.   It’s set for 10 am on Friday, July 1st.   It features the candidates for that office, presently including Keith Amemiya, Ikaika Anderson, Sylvia Luke and Sherry Menor-McNamara.   Attorney  Louise Ing will be moderator.   It’ll be a discussion of qualifications and platforms, and we’ll find out what these candidates stand for and what they bring to the office.   And it will help you decide how you will vote. The second such webinar will be at 10 am Friday, September 30th.   It’s part of our Burning National Issues series, and it’s called Legal Chicken, Legal Egg.   It will be an examination of the interactions between the changes in our laws and the changes in our society, and how the one affects the other.   Avi Soifer, former dean of the William S. Richard School of law, will moderate.   Several speakers will help him explore the

CHECKLISTS TO MAKE YOU LOOK AND SOUND GREAT  One of the most challenging things for ThinkTech is to shape you up and frame you right, and get good video and sound from all our hosts and guests on your talk shows and on all of our talk shows, now and later.  This does require your attention and our collaboration on a number of important points, including the quality and configuration of your hardware, the settings on your operating system and Zoom software, and the way you sit and handle yourself during the show. It’s a juggling act for you, and us, with a number of balls in the air.  Setting things up the right way at the outset is not enough - you have to follow the tips and tricks we give you throughout the show. Adapting to the room light and background noise at the outset may not be enough either - you have to adapt to changes in those things to maintain production values consistently through the show. Our engineering staff will step you through things orally in the time before t

HOW ABOUT SOME NEW SHOWS We have a new show on books.  It's World of Books hosted by Mihaela Stoops, and it will be broadcast every other Tuesday at 3pm starting June 1st.  Stay tuned to see the authors and books she covers.  It will cover books by authors and events on the mainland and in Europe, among other places. ThinkTech likes books and authors and interviews about books and authors.  Mihaela Stoops' show World of Books joins our Books! Books! Books! show which is hosted by Elaine Gallant, which is broadcast every other Wednesday at 4pm.  The next episode is on May 24th. Note that both Elaine and Mihaela live on Maui, but both have a huge rolodex that lets them connect with authors everywhere.  Now that we have two books shows, ThinkTech can be your weekly book club with great literary insights and suggestions for you.  Get caught reading! We also have a new show on critical thinking, and goodness knows these days that can be very helpful.  It's called Thinking it T

AMERICAN ISSUES TAKE ONE AND TAKE TWO DEBUT We want to create a double header talk show series with our 11:00 am Wednesday and Thursday political shows to include more third-party guests.  We're calling the Wednesday show American Issues Take One and the Thursday show American Issues Take Two.  The regular participants will be the same as the shows that have aired in these spots before, i.e., What Now America and Politics for the People, but Tim Apicella and Jay Fidell will be co-hosts for these new shows, with Cynthia Lee Sinclair as guest on Wednesday and Stephanie Stoll Dalton as guest on Thursday, and hopefully Winston Welch can join us soon.  We’ll create a list of possible third-party guests from Hawaii and elsewhere and invite them to participate from show to show. We are working on a list of those third-party guests, and we're open for suggestions.  As before, these two shows will be dedicated to political issues and events in the U.S. and worldwide, and we want to mak
