REVAMPING OUR SITE

Given our new production workflow (see last week’s ThinkTech Story), and our increased focus on publication dates for disseminating, archiving and retrieving our videos, we’ve revamped our website.

More specifically, we have added a section on the home page called Latest Productions (most recently published).  These are our most recent shows, ordered by their publication dates (that is, the dates they are uploaded and published on our YouTube.com channel (YouTube.com/thinktechhawaii).  We’ve also created a separate page with this section by itself.  See the top level menu to get there.  And we’ve put a short form of this section on the right side of most other pages of the site, so you can easily find. play and replay them at your convenience.


And we have added a section on the home page called Most Popular (most recent top five and staff pick).  There are our current Top Five and Staff Pick talk show videos, ordered by the views they’ve received.  We’ve also created a separate page with this section by itself.  See the top level menu to get there.  This list is also available in our Daily Email Advisory, so It’s not hard to find it and enjoy being among our weekly Top Five or Staff Pick.


We have also moved the Finding your Favorites on-demand section from the second page of the site to the home page.  This search function is AI and very powerful and can enable you to find any show among the thousands of shows in our library searching on a word, the name of a host, the name of a show or a date or date range of the publication of the show.  We are very proud of having developed this on-demand search function.  We’ve also created a separate page with this section by itself.  See the top level menu to get there.  


And we’ve reorganized and rewritten lots of other menu picks, pages and resources available in the selections on the top level menu.  Rather than go through them all here, we encourage you to visit the site thinktechhawaii.com and take a spin through the menu to see what’s there, paying special attention perhaps to our Commentaries on the production tab of the menu, which are very popular.  If you have any questions or suggestions about any of these things, or if you have any new ideas for additional functionality on the site, please let us know. 


It should be clear enough that we want the site to be not only an archive of our work product over the years, but also as a place that provides powerful tools by which you can find all our latest publications and most popular shows, and where you can search through our thousands of our talk show videos to see, play and replay the ones you want, and to learn so many things about so many aspects of our state, our lives and our world, then and now.

Graphics are worth at least a thousand words We have so many stories and links on our various publications, including our Daily Email Advisories and our Flash Messages and all the newsletters we send out covering news, events, features, fund drives, projects and holidays. All these can all be better with graphics, graphics that catch the eye and reinforce the message.  And more and more we're getting into the swing of things by adding graphics to our content.  That can include graphics from one of the stock photo sites we use, or an AI graphic from Discord-MidJourney, or one of the graphics we have in our collection. We found and have moved on to storing our collection of photos and graphics in Google photos, where we have accumulated a huge number of them in that collection, and this helps us find and include them in all our publications.  The good thing about Google photos is that you can upload and tag them quickly, then find and download them quickly.  Furthermore, you can edit

THINKTECH WORKFLOW NOTICE ThinkTech is always improving its workflow. Now, in lieu of specific “airdates” we will simply upload your shows onto YouTube as soon as they are edited, i.e., 1-2 days after you have appeared on your show. As soon as the videos are uploaded, we will let you know and send you the on demand links for the show and the YouTube playlist so that you can watch the show and share those links withyour friends and associates.. We have redesigned our website to list all the Latest Productions on the top of the homepage (just below the player) and as a sidebar on other pages on the site, so that you can find and play them on demand as soon as they are available.  This will give you better production values for your shows, make it easier for you to find, play and replay them now and in the future, make the workflow easier for our staff, and save software subscription costs.
