DEBUT OF "OVER THE YEARS"

The beginning of the year is a good time to look back and examine some of the long-forgotten details about the origins and evolution of ThinkTech Hawaii.  It's been an interesting and remarkable adventure for us and the thousands who have participated in it.


So we’ve been working on a series of animated if not nostalgic videos to cover these origins and evolution, in which we review various periods of our learning, growth and development in various animated chapters.


We started with a chapter covering the beginning in 2000 when ThinkTech was just a random idea.  We’re calling that chapter “Over the Years - Origins.” It covers the memories of our very first steps, now 20 years and for most of us a long time ago.  The YouTube link for Chapter One is

The second chapter begins around 2010 and it’s called “Over the Years - Reaching Out.” It’s dedicated to how we expanded out of radio and newspaper columns and into more serious studio space and equipment to build a real family of hosts and guests.  The YouTube link for Chapter Two is:

The third chapter is in process right now, it’s the one we’re calling “Over the Years - Achieving Impact.”  It will take us back to the steps and discoveries we had in developing our video streaming systems and platforms to maximize impact on our viewers, viewership and the community. 


The fourth chapter is also on the drawing boards.  It’s the one we’re calling “Over the Years - Speaking More Broadly .”  It will follow our efforts in expanding coverage and commentaries and encouraging hosts and guests to express themselves on on various public policy issues in Hawaii, in America and overseas


The fifth chapter, which we are always thinking about, will explore the national and global changes that are likely to take place over the next few years, and how we will follow them, cover them, show their connections with Hawaii, adapt our systems to them, and grow with them.  We will call it “Over the Years - Following our Future.”


So take a look at Chapters One and Two, and stay tuned for Chapter Three, Four and Five.  It has been a great experience to look back and review our revelations and discoveries from the beginning and through two decades of local and national history, but it also has miles to go, and so many more lessons to learn going forward.

PLEASE GET READY FOR OUR FALL FUND DRIVE The ramp up for our Fall Fund Drive starts in mid-October and the drive itself will be in and through the month of November.  It's coming soon so we're preparing for it, with our various emails, bulletins and messages to go to our viewers, hosts and guests, including you.  We rely heavily on our fund drives to pay the bills.  Regrettably, our last two fund drives were not as successful as we had hoped, and so this time we're working hard to address what we can do to make this one more successful. Graphics are worth at least a thousand words We have so many stories and links on our various publications, including our Daily Email Advisories and our Flash Messages and all the newsletters we send out covering news, events, features, fund drives, projects and holidays. All these can all be better with graphics, graphics that catch the eye and reinforce the message.  And more and more we're getting into the swing of things by adding graphics to our content.  That can include graphics from one of the stock photo sites we use, or an AI graphic from Discord-MidJourney, or one of the graphics we have in our collection. We found and have moved on to storing our collection of photos and graphics in Google photos, where we have accumulated a huge number of them in that collection, and this helps us find and include them in all our publications.  The good thing about Google photos is that you can upload and tag them quickly, then find and download them quickly.  Furthermore, you can edit

THINKTECH WORKFLOW NOTICE ThinkTech is always improving its workflow. Now, in lieu of specific “airdates” we will simply upload your shows onto YouTube as soon as they are edited, i.e., 1-2 days after you have appeared on your show. As soon as the videos are uploaded, we will let you know and send you the on demand links for the show and the YouTube playlist so that you can watch the show and share those links withyour friends and associates.. We have redesigned our website to list all the Latest Productions on the top of the homepage (just below the player) and as a sidebar on other pages on the site, so that you can find and play them on demand as soon as they are available.  This will give you better production values for your shows, make it easier for you to find, play and replay them now and in the future, make the workflow easier for our staff, and save software subscription costs.
