2022 THINKTECH'S YEAR OF IMPACT See our 2022 end of year movie, ThinkTech's Year of Impac t . With partial funding from the Atherton Foundation, we completed an Impact Project to expand our community outreach and viewership through social media and other creative impact activities. Our staff worked hard on a number of initiatives directed at increasing our impact on our existing viewership and the community in general, including projects organized to expand our presence on various social media platforms.  We met with them weekly through the year to discuss progress on the project. And, for the first time, we hired a part-time consultant to develop strategies to increase our presence and promote our content. Part of the Impact Project was the preparation of the end of year movie, itself.  This movie was created by our Production Manager Hayley Ikeda, and showcased at our Awards Ceremony on December 8th .  Check it out at this link .  Our Impact Project is a long-...

THE NEW YEAR IS ALMOST HERE The New Year Is almost here.  Every year in the second half of December ThinkTech pauses on its production schedule in order to catch up on its administrative matters.   And this year is no different.   We won't be producing new talk shows in the third or fourth week of December.   Instead, we will be streaming selected shows carefully curated for you viewing pleasure 24 by 7 through the Holiday Season. This is not to say that we won't be around and busy.   We'll still be working in our studio and at home to catch up on things.   That's why we pause on our production schedule.   So, you may ask, what will we be doing over these two weeks? We’ll be creating new bumpers, openers, animations and video clips for our talk shows and entr’acte.   We’ll be upgrading our many software programs, including our streaming and database programs.   We’ll be organizing and doing inventory of all our software, our graphics, and our...

NEW YOUTUBE CHANNEL: THINKTECH BRIEFS Watch for our new YouTube Channel.  It's called ThinkTech Briefs.  The idea is that viewers in general and certainly ThinkTech viewers are looking for shorter clips these days, and our 30-minute talk show videos may be  a little too long for them. Looking at YouTube on your computer, your smart phone or your Smart TV, you will see short curated clips on every subject, often selected for your taste.  Most people like them short. So we've decided to try something new, that is, to break our 30-minute talk show videos into smaller segments.  Our studio engineers, who listen and attach Topic Titles as lower thirds at the bottom of our talk show videos, will find a good and logical place to break our videos up into smaller pieces. This may be more watchable for many viewers.  It's easier, they stay, to watch a short clip rather than a longer one.  And it's actually faster to upload two short clips than one longer clip to...

JUST ANOTHER WAY TO WATCH THINKTECH Smart TVs, including Samsung, give you still another way to watch YouTube and thus ThinkTech.   Try it on your smart TV and you will see.     It’s not just access to YouTube, it’s smart access to YouTube, and that means a world of YouTube content organized in a way that reflects and responds to your viewing history and tastes.   And it’s easy to use and find and watch.   It often knows what you want to watch before you do. That on top of the fact that YouTube is growing logarithmically every day.   A huge amount of new and better content all the time.   Anything you could want to see, and it’s all right there for you.   In many ways, better than regular network or cable TV.   I thought it was just me, but other people are telling me they are caught up in it too. And you can easily include ThinkTech Hawaii in your smart TV profile, so that when you go onto the YouTube section of your smart TV, ThinkTech come...

TWITTER, A CASUALTY OF MUSK Up till now ThinkTech has been on Twitter .   It was pretty much going in the right direction particularly when it barred Donald Trump.   But Elon Musk's frenetic purchase of Twitter and what he has done since then has changed all that. What Musk has done even in the past few days give us great concern.   He’s permitted outrageous lies and conspiracy theories on Twitter, pulled moderation systems, and has himself tweeted hateful lies, appalling conspiracy theories and calls for violence, motivated by a bizarre schadenfreude against Paul Pelosi, misinforming and spreading hate among millions of Americans, and encouraging others to do the same. On a number of occasions, Musk has said he will permit Trump back on Twitter, which will undoubtedly enhance these lies and hate and dog whistles for violence, just as in the past, or worse.   This is all too much.   Only days after Musk closed, and only days before the 2022 midterm elections,Twi...
