THINKTECH GOING FARTHER A few months ago, we made a video identifying all the places ThinkTech has done shows in Hawaii, on the mainland and around the world, including Africa, Latin America and Asia. It was exciting to take stock how many hundreds of places that has included over the years. But more recently, it has become even more obvious, and the video and audio we've has become all the more impressive. Honestly, you couldn't tell whether the show emanated from Moiliili, or from across the world. Sometimes, you have to pinch yourself. That's one of the reasons we now show the location of the host or guest on the screen, so you can tell. A couple of shows stick in my mind where that happened. Some from Hanover, Germany with Martin Despang, some from Bogota, Colombia with Nicholas Sussman-Herran, some from Kanpala, Uganda with Gilbert Nuwagira, and finally and a recent show from Pnom Penh, Cambodia with Atithep Meas. A NEW KIND OF CHRISTMAS After consideration of many options and formats, we've settled on our 2022 Holiday Gathering and Awards Ceremony. It will be at 5-7:00 pm on Thursday, December 8th, 2022 and it will be a hybrid. Our venue, which we are very happy with, is the Conference Center at the Pacific Guardian Life Center It is not as large a room as before covid, but certainly big enough to handle our special invitees, including our oli blessing and keynote, our Community and ThinkTech presenters and awardees and our staff, directors and underwriters. From there and through our studio, we will produce and broadcast an interactive program to our many, many hosts, guests and friends in Hawaii and in so many other places around the world. Through this hybrid format, we will reach more of our ThinkTech family than we have ever reached in any Holiday Gathering before. Of course, we will record the event and post the video on our broadcast and on-demand soci...

HEROES, RASCALS AND DUDS This was a fabulous one-hour special we did with former governor John Waihee, Star-Advertiser political columnist Richard Borreca and political pundit Chuck Freedman, moderated by Colin Moore, who chairs the political science department at UH Manoa. They appeared on Talk Story with John Waihee on Tuesday, May 31st. This show gave us a valuable insight into Hawaii's rich contemporary history about those who were there, from those who knew them. The panelists worked hard to do this right, and it showed. The show got rave reviews, and the consensus was that it was no less than wonderful for anyone interested in or familiar with the Heroes, Rascals and Duds involved. Those Heroes, Rascals and Duds of Hawaii’s past were very well selected, and the discussion was interspersed with sea stories and personal experiences from the panelists about the “characters” they covered in this discussion. The panel covered people who helped create our con...
